Briefing for State Leaders: Stop a Constitutional Convention (Con-Con)

The idea that somehow a Constitutional
Convention called to amend the Constitution could not propose one
way or the other an entirely new Constitution is simply false.

~ Edwin Vieira, Jr., Solari Report (2017)

Proposals before state legislatures for a Constitutional Convention must not be approved—this is the topic of our next monthly online briefing for state leaders and their staff. These briefings are a top priority with the aim of alerting leaders to critical or time-sensitive threats to state and individual sovereignty.

The briefing on Thursday, April 10 (2:00-4:00 pm ET) will focus on the push by powerful special interests for a Constitutional Convention or “Con-Con”—a push that could reverse the legal infrastructure of the United States, potentially destroying the 1st Amendment that protects freedom of speech, the 2nd Amendment protecting our right to bear arms, and scores of other Constitutional rights that protect liberties and property rights.

To date, 19 states have approved a resolution calling for a Con-Con. We need to make sure that no other states approve such resolutions, and that the 19 states reverse the resolutions they have approved.

To discuss the potential dangers of a Con-Con, Catherine and Tim Caban will be joined by a leader of the effort to prevent the unthinkable: Joe Wolverton, II, JD, Legal Director of the John Birch Society.

Wolverton is a constitutional scholar, historian, former law professor, speaker, and author known for his passionate defense of individual liberty and state sovereignty. A senior writer for The New American, he specializes in exposing federal overreach and reviving the original intent of the Founding Fathers. He is the author of What Degree of Madness?: Madison’s Method to Make America STATES Again, The Article V Guide for Citizens and Citizen-Legislators, and other works on American constitutionalism.

Please make sure to forward information about the briefing to your representatives and/or other state leaders. As a reminder, Solari subscribers can attend the briefing if their legislator, official, or staff is attending. We will publish a recording after the briefing.

Briefing date and time: Thursday, April 10, 2025, 2:00-4:00 ET
